I have just left a month long retreat in Estes Park which followed three months of very intense traveling. This was my first attempt at solo traveling. There was much to learn, an amazing range of feelings to feel and remarkable people with whom I shared wonderful moments of pick up and delivery. I feel revived and ready to take on the next chapter of adventuring, into the mysteries.
It has been a long time since I have written and much has happened in the interim. On July 25, I decided that it was time for me to get back on the road again. I felt that I had completed the first stage of healing which required the safe container and retreat that the cottage at Timshel provided. I was surrounded there by beauty — the wonderful view of the mountains from my deck, butterflies, birds and more fireflies than I have ever seen. Most of the time, I just sat and watched. I watched the sun rise and set, Venus and Mars dancing, the moon waxing and waning and felt the curious weight of cycles passing through my body. I also watched the grief coursing through my being like storms or at other times like gentle breezes. It has all been part of this soul work of meeting the mysteries of death and I continue to receive it all as a strange gift.

We are so thankful to the Hopkins School for providing us with such a beautiful venue and for all those who celebrated Chris with their love and gratitude, in New Haven and in other parts of this beautiful planet.
In the quiet moments, as I walk through this new chapter without Chris in his bodily form, I think of you often. I have felt deeply held and supported. I am so grateful for the cards, emails and calls, the crystals, other sacred objects and works of art that you have sent to me and for the many ceremonies that were held on behalf of Chris’s healing.
There are many kinds of healing in this world and all of them are deep mysteries. We have all been holding Chris in healing energies and it has now become apparent that it is not his body that will be healing. He entered Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven on Sunday and he has begun the sacred process of transitioning. It may still be many days before this transition is complete but he is already spending much time in the other world, even as he continues to share himself lovingly on this plane.
We will be gathering to celebrate Chris - Husband, father, grandfather, son and friend. The man with the big heart and the big belly laugh. The mystic traveler and the artist. The man who loved because he couldn’t help himself. The man who saw beauty and perfection wherever he went. The man who lived his life in abundant gratitude. The man who gave so many of us gifts beyond words and whose spirit is now loose in the world, still blessing us with his presence.
Our beautiful Chris melted into the One at 4:30 this morning. He left us gently with peace and shining trust. He is truly at rest.
We are so grateful for all of the love, prayers and support that you have showered upon us. Hundreds of you have written from North and South America, Australia, Europe and Africa. We believe that Chris is activating a healing center here in New Haven, not just for himself but for all those who need healing and for the healing of the planet itself. We are calling the power of the collective to come together, in love, gratitude and high imagination to bring about something entirely new that we can not even at this point imagine. Chris and I already feel the support of the network reaching out to us. Just imagine what we can do with all of this love energy. We can truly move mountains.
