Many years ago, I was beginning my life as a facilitator for Shalom Retreats, a psycho-spiritual healing modality.
I grieve for a bright, shining light that has now been extinguished.
We are living in challenging and complicated times. Every day, we hear stories about the harrowing consequences of climate change, the suffering of people in war-torn countries, the extinction of the plants and animals on our beautiful earth, and the inability of our government to take care of the needs of its people.
We live in a world of duality — up and down, right and wrong, young and old, alive and dead.
The 4 of Cups in the Rider-Waite deck represents a time of dreaming when the querent needs to pay attention to the energies pointing toward the dream that wants to manifest. This is not a time for building but for listening and contemplation.
Sometimes, I like to think of myself as a tree. My roots are deep, and they tangle around the mycelium that the fungi spread out beneath the upper world to tie everything together.
